Accentuate Staffing is recruiting for a Development Database Administrator for a non-profit company in Raleigh, NC.   This person is directly responsible for the donor database (VeraCross) including but not limited to gifts processing and acknowledgement system, database reporting, development of queries to sort and report gift information, fundraising analysis, and other data related information processing, and data analysis.  This is a direct hire opportunity!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the processing of gifts received from individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations in a timely manner in accordance with gift processing protocols, generally accepted accounting principles and internal conventions.
  • Create/revise/follow/sustain gifts processing manual in accordance with gift acceptance policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Responsible for all aspects of gifts records including gift substantiation and documentation to the business office in the month the gift is received for proper recording of gifts.  Research as necessary and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage generation of gift acknowledgement letters, receipts, and pledge reminders.
  • Responsible for initiating and creating periodic updates and revisions to donor acknowledgement communications.
  • Tailor database to needs of reporting, development activities and constituents. Match database fields and input processes to requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate monthly reconciliation with the Business Office.
  • Manage and coordinate annual audit requests with the Business Office.
  • Manage the creation and production of fundraising and donor reports.
  • Develop additional reports and lists that are responsive to the needs of the various internal constituents.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation of development database to accounting records via reconciliation process to include new gift money received, new pledges, pledge payments, notification of beneficial interests in trusts, and all other consideration received.
  • Responsible for reconciled and documented monthly reporting of fundraising for dashboard reports, board reports, financial reports, and accounting schedules.
  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance, data input, data integrity and accuracy for the VeraCross constituent database management system.
  • Manage the process of updating of database records in timely manner as needed to maintain accuracy and consistency and capture donor information required.
  • Development of protocol, procedures and construction of necessary reports.
  • Manage large datasets: move and merge files from different platforms, clean, aggregate data and perform quality control as well as writing technical protocol if necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain the update process for accurate constituent records in VeraCross in a timely manner.
  • Manage integration, reconciliation, and exports of data between VeraCross, Excel, and accounting systems including monthly reporting.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of gift processing and stewardship policies including IRS regulations governing contributions to 501(c)(3) organizations, regulatory compliance, and database administration.
  • Knowledge of gift recording requirements, including u/s accounting standards.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of related professional experience or any appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Veracross preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize work and the flexibility to change directions as the job dictates.
  • Ability to solve problems by selecting and applying commonly used procedures, precedents, and rules.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality of detailed work while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience working in complex environments with a high degree of organizational effectiveness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various types of people.
  • Possesses superior communications skills (written and oral) to communicate directly with donors and external/internal stakeholders.
