Accentuate Staffing is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join a commercial construction company in Greensboro, NC. This position is responsible for the entire organizations payroll and benefits administration.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process weekly and biweekly payroll for organization; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishment and other special payroll deductions.
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
- Maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
- Evaluate and audit PTO accruals; work with managers to ensure accuracy of employee balances.
- Report payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and worker’s compensation payments.
- Provide payroll and benefits information by answering questions and requests.
- Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Evaluate revise internal processes to reduce cost and increase efficiency. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reports and fees.
- Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
- Reconcile benefit bills against employee deductions to ensure accuracy.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers.
- Conduct monthly benefits enrollment orientations. Distribute communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefits package.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll and benefits operations by keeping information confidential.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher in business related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll and benefits administration in multi-state environment.
- Customer services mindset with drive to establish and continuously improve processes to ensure efficiency
- Detail oriented and dependability are of utmost importance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
