Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a Cost Accountant to join a local company in the Raleigh area.  This position is primarily responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Cost Accounting Principles to the ongoing development and analysis of product costing, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.

Responsibilities:

• Review standard and actual costs and investigate variances that arise.
• Provide technical and financial assistance to both management and co-workers in analyzing budget variances in their respective cost center reports.
• Assist the Controller(s) on special projects, monthly reconciliation of cost accounts, and assist in assuring the accuracy of invoicing, allocation costs, recording COGS and journal entries for multiple locations.
• Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory and gross margin schedules to management
• Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regard to cost analyses and profitability
• Design or create data collection systems and interpret them for management.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements for month, quarter, and year end, which include journal entries, account analysis, creating, modifying and maintaining spreadsheet reports.

Responsibilities:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting/Finance
-Five years’ related experience
-Equivalent combination of education and experience.
