12/20/12 – Server Infrastructure Architect

Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a direct hire Server Infrastructure Architect to join our outstanding client in the RTP area.


  1. Architect information technology solutions for business projects and/or initiatives
  2. Participate in information technology system implementations from system requirements gathering through implementation and system support transition
  3. Interface with business representatives, vendors, and other stakeholders for gathering system requirements
  4. Document newly architected or existing systems according to quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  5. Identify and address technical or operational risks
  6. Identify and address operational inefficiencies with IT systems
  7. Develop and maintain documentation for operational best practices and systems maintenance
  8. Collaborate with project managers in development of detailed project plans
  9. Develop and execute support transition plan for system implementations
  10. Provide assistance for issues escalated from downstream support teams


1)    Expert knowledge in two or more of the following operating systems:

  • IBM AIX or UNIX equivalent (preferred)
  • Red Hat Linux (preferred)
  • IBM PowerVM (preferred)
  • VMware ESX
  • Microsoft Windows Server

2)    Technical areas of expertise should include and not be limited to the following:

  • Oracle Database
  • IBM DB2 Database
  • Virtual directories and federation
  • Storage Area Networks
  • LAN/WAN network technologies
  • Server virtualization (IBM PowerVM preferred, VMware)
  • Scripting and system automation (Powershell, Bash, etc)
  • Tivoli Storage Manager
  • Apache, IIS, Tomcat, .Net, and related web technologies
  • Enterprise system monitoring

3)    Certifications in at least two of the following technologies:

  • IBM Certified Systems Expert, Advanced Technical Expert
  • Microsoft Server (MCSE, MCITP)
  • Red Hat (RHCT, RHCE)
  • VMware (VCP)
  • Security (CISSP)


  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Information Technology.
  • Working knowledge of SOX and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 requirements
  • Firm understanding of IT best practices and frameworks such as ITIL
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office technologies including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
